Ok, ok. New year, new post.. How about that?

So yeah, soooorry I haven't posted since August. Golly gee..I can't believe it's been that long. I have been pretty busy since school has started, and I guess xanga was the first thing to get neglected.

Well, there isn't a whole lot to mention that would be of much interest. Oh, waaait. I lied! I haven't told some of you about the violin I'm playing! Oh oh! Ok...sooo, about 2 weeks after my first semester started, my teacher introduced me to an amature violinist who was inteterested in loaning out one of his fine violins to a student. Anyway, I got it! I just had to pay half of the insurance, which was very little. It's a very nice sounding instrument. I've performed on it a few times, and it makes a big difference.

I recently finished the Chausson Poeme. Oh,  I've started the Tchaikovsky violin concerto! It's so pretty. I like it so much.  I'm learning some other repertoire for a big recital in May. I'm so excited. :)

Well, this really only covers about 1% of  what's going on in my life...hehe, but it'll have to do for now.

Hey, it's so very close to a month since I've updated...

I finally got my driving permit today. Hopefully, I can just quickly get my license and get it done and over with.

The Summit Music Festival was great! I had a lot of fun and had a wonderful time studying with Rosand again. By the second lesson I was actually missing my teacher though! It just goes to show...I really found someone I work exceptionally well with.

Speaking of my violin teacher, I had a lesson two days ago. As I was getting ready to go he told me that there is this UD professor who plays the violin in the orchestra with the students...He thinks it's just so fun..haha Anyway, this professor has two amazingly great modern Italian violins. He says that he's interested in loaning one out to a student at UD. The only expenses the student would have to pay would be the insurance and repairs. Since it's a modern instrument  the repairs would be extremely  rare and very minor..It's a great deal! Hmm, well I haven't even met him yet, but it's an exciting possibility!

My sister had her baby!!!! He's a beautiful boy and is such a sweetheart.

I'm pretty sure that Xanga is dead for the most part, and those who still use it   not only already know about this news.. but they're his aunts and uncles too..hahah But for the FEW that aren't also related to my nephew... I'll include it in my post.

Mmm, I think it's time for a new profile picture...

Ah, today I am very content. My last two lessons were much better than they have been lately. I guess I went through a lull and am finally recovering from it. I'm starting a new concerto as soon as it comes in the mail! I'm having it sent to NY, because I won't be in PA by the time it comes. I can't wait to go to Summit! I leave Sunday, and I've been trying to perfect the Wieniawski No.1 for Rosand. How exciting!

So, my new concerto is the Bruch Scottish Fantasy. It just so happens that it is one of my faaavorite pieces, so I'm elated that I'm going to be learning it. I'm supposed to bring it to my lesson on August 14th (2 days after I come home from NY). He wants me to bring  the entire piece.. so all 4 movements... (5 if you count the Prelude, but that technically isn't considered a movement). I have no idea how I'm going to manage the Wieniawski No.1 and Brahms Sonata No.1 in my lessons with Rosand (plus the exercises that Rosand will undoubtedly assign me) AND learn the Scottish Fantasy in its entirety. THIS will be fun.  But I'm just pretending to complain. I couldn't be happier. hehe

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!!!

I had to go to UDel today to register for classes and get some information on how everything's going to work in the fall. It was great!!! Some of the process got a little tedious, but for the most part it was kinda fun! My classes seem to all be interesting, and I'm not horribly overloaded...That is...I don't think so. Perhaps I should refrain from judgement until I actually have to deal with  the course load. I was a bit disappointed to find out that I won't be studying French until next year.

Out of all the music majors that were there I was the only Applied Music Major (that is to say performance major). It was...interesting. There are several days to come and get your schedule sorted though, so I wonder how many performance majors came to UD this year.....hmmmmm.

I have two advisors for my course schedule, and one of them is my violin teacher!!! yaaaay!! It makes me feel soo happy that he'll be so involved with my schedule and be able to guide me into a direction that would be most advantageous to my violin playing.

anyway, that's what happened today. :) I'll update a little more soon!

Hmm, so most importantly I wanted to say Happy Belated Birthday aaaand Graduation, Steph!

It's always cool to give "shout outs" on xanga.

I have pretty good news! In the last two weeks I've gained 4 students! One is coming here to my home and the other three are coming to LifeSong. I have an almost full schedule at LifeSong now! I was just saying last night to a friend that I'd like to get two more students, but today I got a call from LifeSong telling me I'd have a new one on Monday. Now, just one more would be great! Ahem...though I wouldn't complain if I got a few more.

I finally got my new sonata. It’s so beautiful…but of course it is. It’s Brahms after all. I’ve set a performance in a month, and I plan to play the whole sonata. I’m not sure what I was thinking though! My teacher doesn’t get back until 3 days before the performance (and my lesson is 2 days before the performance). Hopefully…uh…it’s ready! Though, if it doesn’t work out I have a few other pieces I can put on the program instead.

I was accepted into the Summit Music Festival. Even though I was accepted last year I was actually pretty nervous about this year, because the recording I sent was embarrassingly bad. It turned out ok though, because I got Aaron Rosand for all 4 lessons which is exactly what I wanted!

Ok, time for me to go prraaactice!

Peace
